Is The Cost Keeping Old Away From Dental Care?
Do you know according to a new study, cost is the major barrier that prevents many seniors from getting the dental care they need? Can anything be more shameful? Researchers at the University of Buffalo surveyed 415 individuals over 60 years of age living in Western New York state, and found that more than half of them faced barriers to seeing a dentist. I just couldn't digest this result. It's shocking! For me, the solution lies in dental insurance so that money is not able to pose a hindrance in old age. What do you say?

Claude Gelinas :
The numbers are eloquent.
I'm convinced technology, automation (total or semi) and perhaps even nanotechnologies will help dentists win this losing battle because, after all, it takes an army of dental care workers to cater to a massive population and right now, there aren't enough of them.
The situation is even worse in developing and emerging countries so let's hope that, in general, people eat less sugar, fat and salt while brushing their teeth with good toothpaste, twice daily… until the dentists become a realistic alternative for them, at last.
Thanks for bringing up this important issue!
