Dental Bridge Type
The dental bridge is a type of cosmetic surgery implant. It involves implanting a pontic or a false tooth between two crowns of porcelain in the cavity left open by the missing teeth or tooth. The crowns perform the function of supporting the pontic. This is called the fixed bridge and cannot be removed or changed, which is possible in case of a partial denture.
The Cantilever bridge may be used in case of areas where the pressure is less, primarily the front portion of your oral cavity. Bridges can considerably reduce disease of the gums. It can also help improve your speech and correct serious issues related to bite problem. However, they require serious care and treatment on your part and regular and proper mouthwash and brushing too.
Dental bridge type are three in number:
A) Traditional Fixed Bridge: As I've said earlier, in this bridge, a false tooth or the ponitc is infused between two support crowns, in place of the missing teeth or tooth. This is permanent and fixed, unlike certain dentures which are removable.
B) Resin Bonded Bridges: Under the resin bonded bridges, metal bands and false teeth are used with the help of resin, which is carefully ducked. This kind of cosmetic surgery is only applicable in abutment teeth or crowns which do not require extensive fillings and are healthy enough. The surgery is cost-effective and it substantially reduces the preparation on the adjacent teeth.
C) Cantilever Bridges: Areas of the oral cavity which are less stressful, basically the frontal portion of the mouth, and when you have teeth on only half side or part of the mouth, a cantilever bridge is used. It involves the implanting of false teeth to a side, completely over the teeth.
